I see from the trip dossier just getting cash from ATM's is easiest for spending money. If I wanted to bring some cash just in case, it sounds like US Dollars are widely accepted. Is that the case?

What would you recommend to bring, USD or Sol? Probably easier for me to get USD in the UK.

Hey Guys, Wayo again,

The question today is money. If you have a credit card (visa, amex, Master Card) you can have USD on the ATM's. Just bring your secret code in your head. Bring some USD cash to spend and one day we can exchange to have some soles.

While we are on the Sacred Valley, I recommend to have soles in your pockets.

I think that the amigas are taking things very serious. Pisco shots are strong, the good thing is that it's one of the best drinks Very Happy

My name is Sean. I make violent video games for a living. I also am worse at mountain biking than most of you. However, I think this trip will be fun! I've ridden with Justin in Vancouver so he knows what I'm talking about.

Great photo Sean! We'll probably all be doing that at sometime during the trip; I know I will! Smile

By the way, what game company do you work for? Stuff I do is 3D visualisation, so we have a bit of cross-over with the games industry.

I just talked to my airline (LAN) and they said my bike needs to be packed into a container in which the dimensions add up to less than 62". I haven't got my box yet, but this seems really small. Has anyone else packed up their bikes yet? Does your packing job meet this size requirement?

PS. Bobby, I work for High Moon Studios (Vivendi). We just finished The Bourne Conspiracy for 360 and PS3.

Hi Sean:

I believe that what they're talking about is that if you want to avoid an extra bike charge, then it has to be less than those dimensions. If it's over then you'll get dinged the bike surcharge, but you'll still be able to bring the bike.

If any of you are interested, I'm now selling these beautiful bike bags handmade by Pika Packworks in the U.S. He gave me a good deal on them, so I can sell them cheaper than he sells direct. His price is $345 plus shipping, mine is $310. You just order and pay online, then he makes it for you and ships it to you:

You may be able to avoid the surcharge with this bag. One of my Chile clients just did.

Yes, there is internet in both Lima and Cusco. Although on second though, we're using a new hotel in Lima, so I might be wrong. Most tourist hotels now have internet though.

Also, if you want to bring a laptop or something that needs power, you'll need an adapter. It's the same plug as in Europe: two round prongs. Costs about $5 in your local electronics store.

Thanks, Karen

Hola Karen,

I sent the address on the post that Naoko created.

About the "plus" version of your credit card, it's the first time I hear that. I think it must work because nobody have had troubles with their credit cards in Peru.

Make sure you have your pin number and also if you can make that question to your bank, would be good.

Wayo
